Setting up VPN in macOS

To configure the VPN service on macOS, follow the procedure below:
Download the stable version of the TunnelBlick software image file (.dmg) from
Open the downloaded file and then double-click to launch the application
OpenVPN Install

Fill in the login credentials of your computer to authorize the TunnelBlick installation

When the installation is completed, the application will present the following dialogue.
At this stage, exit the application by pressing the Quit button.

To download the configuration file please right-click on configuration file link miti.ovpn (see attachments section below) and choose "Save As" / "Save Link As ...", or equivalent, to download the file to your computer. Additionally you can download it from the Attachment section bellow.

Open the "miti.ovpn" file. It will launch the TunnelBlick application. At this stage you can choose either All Users to Indicate that you want the VPN configuration to be available to all users on your computer.


Once again, you must enter the login credentials of your computer to authorize TunnelBlick to add the configuration file to all system users.

The configuration will be completed with the following message being displayed.

After the configuration is complete, a new window will appear and displays the connection status for  miti.
Press the Connect button.

If you do not see this window, TunnelBlick is also accessible in the menu bar, with the icon that symbolizes a tunnel, as you can see in the image below.
Start the connection and fill in your authentication data:
  • "Username" insert, where corresponds to
  • "Password" corresponds to the  m-iti account. Click "OK"
You can memorize the "Username" and "Password" by ticking the "Save In Keychain" check boxes.

Shortly you should see the following notification


Now you are connected to M-ITI's VPN service!
